MGRI in Ministry's rankings

Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia released University Media Ranking: MGRI takes 109th place.

On August 26th, 2021 the MSHER released a list of Russian universities based on different social media activity. The following criteria were formed from various indicators of the effectiveness of the work of universities with official social networks. Each of three indicators has its own specific value in the final formula.

This formula covers activity in social networks such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube etc. The criteria of the effectiveness takes into account such factors as the total audience and active users of the site, the time followers spend on it, the number of visits to the site per month and a “bounce” rate. The ministry plans to update the rating monthly.

In the overall rating MGRI took 109th place, in the rating of the effectiveness of work with the media – 112th, with the official website – 106th and with popular social networks - 103rd. MGRI took a stable and honorable position right in the middle of the released rating. Among 710 Russian universities only 219 made it to the top list.

The first place in the overall ranking was taken by the Far Eastern Federal University. The second and third positions are occupied by the Ural Federal University and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Among the universities-members of the “Nedra” Consortium, only MISiS entered the top ten, and MGRI (Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting) is located between St. Petersburg Mining University (106th place) and Ulyanovsk State University (113th place).
